Privacy Policy

What CISOs Connect collects through this site, why, and how it's handled. Written from our actual practices, not boilerplate.

Who this covers

This policy covers cisosconnect.com and, during the interim period before the domain cutover, the same CISOs Connect pages hosted at our current address — the public site and its member area. It does not cover third-party sites we link to (our awards platform, PR Newswire, LinkedIn) or Security Current®, our editorially aligned but separately operated sibling.

Information we collect

We collect information you choose to give us through four forms on this site, and nothing else beyond basic site analytics:

  • Membership inquiry — name, work email, company, role level, and organization scale.
  • Vendor engagement inquiry — name, title, company, work email, engagement type, and any message you include.
  • Program nomination (C100, A100, Deputy C100) — the nominee's name, organization, and email if known, plus your own contact details as the nominator.
  • Research report request — first name and work email, used to deliver the requested PDF and a copy to your inbox.

Every form includes a hidden field used only to catch automated spam submissions; a legitimate visitor never sees or fills it in, and nothing is stored if it trips.

How we use it

We use the information you submit only for the purpose you submitted it: evaluating a membership application, scoping a vendor engagement, administering an award nomination, or delivering a research report you asked for, plus the operational email that confirms we received it. We do not sell personal information, and we do not use these submissions for third-party advertising or ad retargeting.

How it's stored

Form submissions are stored in access-controlled cloud storage (Amazon S3) operated by our infrastructure partner, Synthetic Insights. Notification and confirmation emails are sent through Twilio SendGrid, a third-party email delivery service, solely to route your inquiry to our team and, where applicable, deliver what you requested.

Cookies & analytics

Our public pages use Cloudflare Web Analytics, a cookieless analytics service — it does not set cookies or track individual visitors across sites, and we don't use any third-party ad-tracking pixels. If you sign in to the members-only Community or Leadership areas, Cloudflare Access sets a single session cookie strictly to keep you signed in; it is not used for tracking or advertising and is cleared when you sign out.

How long we keep it

We retain form submissions for as long as reasonably necessary to fulfill the purpose they were submitted for — evaluating your inquiry, administering the relevant program, or delivering the requested report — or as required by law.

Your rights

Depending on where you're located, you may have rights to access, correct, or request deletion of your personal information, or to object to certain processing (for example under GDPR or CCPA). To make a request, contact us using the details below.

Children's privacy

CISOs Connect is a professional community for security executives and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.

Third-party links

This site links to third-party services — our awards platform, PR Newswire, LinkedIn, and others — that have their own privacy practices. This policy doesn't cover them.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
