Protecting the Trust
That Brings Us Together.

CISOs Connect™ exists because executive cybersecurity leaders are willing to share their experiences openly and honestly. That level of conversation is only possible in a community built on trust, professionalism, respect, and confidentiality. Every member plays a role in preserving that environment.

Our Principles

Five commitments.

Trust

Trust is the foundation of every conversation, introduction, and collaboration within the community.

Respect

Members are expected to engage professionally, value differing perspectives, and contribute constructively to every discussion.

Collaboration

The community succeeds when members share knowledge, ask thoughtful questions, and help one another solve real business challenges.

Integrity

Members are expected to act ethically, honestly, and in a manner that reflects positively on the executive cybersecurity profession.

Confidentiality

Most CISOs Connect™ programs operate under the Chatham House Rule. Participants may use the information and ideas shared during a discussion but may not reveal the identity or affiliation of the individual who shared them. Members should never disclose confidential business information, proprietary data, or discussions intended to remain within the community.

Member Expectations
  • Participate actively in discussions.
  • Share practical experience and lessons learned.
  • Support fellow members.
  • Respect diverse viewpoints.
  • Mentor and encourage emerging leaders.
  • Contribute to research and community initiatives.
  • Represent the community with professionalism.
Vendor participation

Technology partners are an important part of the CISOs Connect™ ecosystem, but the community is not a sales environment. Partners are expected to:

  • Contribute expertise rather than marketing.
  • Engage in open discussion.
  • Respect the executive nature of the community.
  • Build relationships before pursuing business opportunities.
  • Honor the confidentiality of all discussions.

Members should never feel pressured to engage in commercial conversations.

Professional conduct

To maintain the quality of the community, members agree to:

  • Treat every participant with professionalism.
  • Avoid personal attacks or inappropriate behavior.
  • Respect meeting formats and facilitators.
  • Honor differing opinions.
  • Foster inclusive and productive discussions.

Constructive disagreement is encouraged. Personal conflict is not.

Use of community information

Resources, research, presentations, recordings, and member information are provided to support the community. Members may not:

  • Share member contact information without permission.
  • Reproduce community resources without authorization.
  • Misrepresent community discussions.
  • Use membership for unsolicited marketing or recruitment.
Questions or Concerns

Protecting the integrity of the community is a shared responsibility. Members who have questions about these guidelines or wish to report concerns are encouraged to contact the CISOs Connect™ team directly. All inquiries are handled respectfully and, where appropriate, confidentially.
